We believe a custom finish is easily achieved with your imagination and our expertise. Our custom alloy repair service is hassle free and quality assured. With talented paint technicians, we guarantee a great result and a stunning look for your rims.

Kerbside damage, scrapes and chippings from the road can leave unwanted markings and damage to your wheel trims, customising your alloys will bring them back to life. We believe the only limitation is your imagination! You can email one of our team here for more information about this service.

Caring for your Customised Alloy Wheels

As with all newly refurbished alloy wheels, custom alloy wheels need care and attention to keep them looking at their best, and to preserve a longer life. We advise that they are cleaned at least twice a week with a car sponge and wheel cleaner to keep them in pristine condition. Over time, water can seep in and damage your wheels; so keep an eye out for milky patches on your alloys, which may be an indicator that water has started to seep under the lacquer, then email us or give us a call and we can advise what you should do to prevent further damage. The sooner you contact us, the better the finished result.

The Custom Alloy Wheel Process

Every wheel passes through a strict process which ensures the wheels are cleaned properly before being powder coated, painted and lacquered. This ensures your alloys are in pristine condition and have a long lasting finish.

1. Wheels Arrive

Once your wheels have arrived, (you can drop them off, or we can collect and deliver) the tyres are removed using a specialist machine. Your alloys and tyres are marked for identification and the tyres stored on our racks.

Your alloys are checked for cracks, buckles and stress fractures. We will advise if the alloys are unroadworthy or beyond economic repair. Any additional repair work and costing will be notified at this stage. Your alloys are then stripped of all weights. Tyre pressure sensor equipment is marked to ensure the correct replacement.

2. Aquablast Preparation

Your alloys are placed into a chemical solution and stripped back the bare metal. They are then prepared in a specialist Aquablast machine which cleans and keys the alloy's surfaces. Using this machine is quicker than more traditional methods and produces a better surface result. Your alloys are then de-greased.

Any damage to your wheels is carefully removed using abrasive discs. The alloys are then prepared, dressed and filled to deal with any damage to the rim edges and the face.

3. Powder Primer

Your alloys are placed in the oven and heated for 30 minutes to remove all air rapped in the microscopic pores within the alloy. This ensures that no air escapes when the paint is applied. Air escaping would affect the quality of the primer finish.

A coat of powder primer is now applied covering the whole alloy wheel. Once applied your alloys are reheated to ensure the powder primer can cure which forms a strong resilient coating.

4. Application of Colour

The next stage is to apply your chosen colour to the alloys.

We use the same paint as supplied to the best wheel manufacturers in Europe, and we can be confident of the quality and match; our custom finishes are only limited by your imagination. We can paint multiple colours, unusual effects, glitter or a combination of colours coupled with a diamond cut as desired.

5. Final Coat, Cooled and Check

A final coat of lacquer is applied to your alloys before baking, which is extremely durable and will protect your wheels from the elements.

After oven baking your alloys are removed and hung to cool which takes about 20-30 minutes After this they are set out on the racks where they are carefully inspected by a technician to ensure the finish meets our stringent quality control checks.

6. Tyres Refitted

Your wheels then have their tyres refitted. The wheels are balanced and where possible we will reset any tyre pressure system. Your wheels are then ready for collection.

We will not re-fit illegal tyres.

Custom Finishes

We take on every challenge put to us and endeavour to implement new techniques that arrive onto the market so we can ensure we offer all our clients a wide range of services and effects. Here is an overview of some of the most popular techniques we apply along with some of the latest to arrive onto the market.

Shadow Chrome

A shadow chrome finish gives your alloys the effect of a metal finish in the paint. Highly effective and desirable, this finish is becoming more and more popular.

Colour Coding

Colour coding is fast becoming a popular technique for alloy wheels. This is where the alloy is colour matched to your car, or a part of your car to give it a unique identity. This is a very simple effect that has a truly stunning result.

Glitter Effect

This finish is not for the feint hearted! After a base colour has been applied to the alloys, our technicians apply a glitter effect to add an extra dimension to the rims. The glitter catches the light offering any alloy wheel a truly bespoke look.

Two Tone Effect

Applying a two tone effect offers a classy and refined look to your alloys. We recommend a colour combination of a metal effect and anthracite for a truly stunning look, however, for a unique look adding a key colour to match back to your car can also look stunning and original.

Hydro Graphics

Hydro graphic effects applied to your alloys really is the latest must have effect. Also known as water transferable printing (or H20 dipping) this clever application onto your alloys allows you to add graphical designs and pictures to your rims. Your chosen design is printed onto a unique film and then laid onto the surface of water and activated. It then begins to dissolve leaving the design floating on top. Your alloy is then slowly dipped through the film onto of the water until fully submerged. The design will follow the flow of the water over the shape and adhere itself to it. There simply are no limits to the design you can have, so if you fancy a leopard print, or dollar bills, we can do it!

All Your Custom Refurb Questions Answered...

  • Are all wheels eligible for a custom refurbishment?
This very much depends on the extent of the damage, for example we won't repair badly cracked alloys for safety reasons. We recommend you email us some pictures of your alloy wheels and we can advise on the best service we can offer.
  • How long does a custom refurbishment take?
As we carry out the whole process on site at our alloy wheel repair centre, we can turn your custom alloys round in 72 hours. They take a little longer than our standard refurbishment due to the intricate and specialist nature of the process. Simply drop them off, or arrange with us to collect and deliver them.
  • How Long will a Custom Refurbishment last?
We guarantee our custom repairs for 12 months, but with a good care routine you will find they will last much longer than this.
  • How many times can my alloys be repaired?
This depends on the wheel and the damage. We are happy to advise on your wheels, simply email us images and details here.
  • Can you Repair Cracked Alloys?
We do not repair badly cracked, buckled or badly dented wheels as these are safety related structural repairs and wheels should be written off and replaced. However, we can repair minor cracks and dents, so if you send us a picture of your alloys we will be happy to advise what can be achieved.
